When I or another member uploads a new avatar, they save it, and it will show on their profile page, but it wont show on the widgets in the side bar, nor in posts around the forum. 

I have deleted all the caches I have, even the forum user cache and my browser cache too, and so have the other members, but the problem persists. The new avatar is only showing on the profile page, not any where else on the forum. 

Any suggestions on how to fix this? 

Can anyone help?

I don't want link By admin to the profile. Is that possible?

Hovering over it shows the correct login name. Can I disable that?

The Problem: By default, wpForo's built-in subscriptions operate on a multi-tier system. If a user subscribes to a parent Forum, they only get an alert when a brand-new topic is posted. They do not automatically get email updates for replies inside those topics unless they go in and manually subscribe to every single thread. For elderly users or less tech-savvy communities, walking members through this setup can be impossible.

The Solution: You can bypass this restriction completely by interacting directly with your WordPress database using phpMyAdmin. By running a few INSERT queries with CROSS JOIN and safety filters, you can globally link every registered member to every parent forum and internal topic simultaneously—without creating duplicates or disrupting existing subscriptions.

⚠️ Step 0: Create a Safety Backup First: Before touching any live database, always export a safety backup of your subscription table:

In phpMyAdmin, click on your wp_wpforo_subscribes table. Click the Export tab at the top menu. Keep the export method as Quick and format as SQL, then click Go/Export to download the backup file.

🚀 Step 1: The "One-Pass" Universal Sync Script

Click the SQL tab at the top of your phpMyAdmin screen while inside your database. Paste the following two query blocks together into the text window and hit Go. This script maps every single user account to every single topic and forum category in your database. It automatically generates the random confirmation hash keys that wpForo requires, sets the light switch to Active (1), maps their login names and emails so they never miss an alert, and uses a safety filter (WHERE NOT EXISTS) to completely skip any data that is already matched up.

🧼 Step 2: Clean Up Legacy Blanks (Optional but Recommended): If users have previously managed to manually subscribe to things on the front end of your website, wpForo natively leaves their user_name and user_email database text columns entirely blank to save physical table room. To clean up your table look and prevent potential server-side mailer hitches, run this final query to copy across real usernames and emails into any blank database fields:

🔄 Future Maintenance: Because the queries use a strict safety check, this entire guide turns into a reusable Maintenance Routine. Whenever you launch a new forum category, create a fresh monthly topic thread, or register a new wave of community members, you can simply run the script in Step 1 again. It will automatically pinpoint the newest changes, fill in the blanks instantly, and leave all your historical data perfectly untouched.
