Hi,

Is there any possibility of adding a mobile number to the registration page or would you like to provide that feature. My group members do most of their work on mobile. They are not very email savvy. I need to provide OTP based verification to clients. I checked OTP extensions, they are cumbersome to use. As a first step if you provide just a mobile number in registration page then I don't have to use another Registration plugin.

Secondly, if you can tell me some way to make a WhatsApp API call in your code, then I can send the OTP on WhatsApp and not worry about Texts (SMSs). Would you like to add that feature. In case your team doesn't have time I can help program that with some guidance from wpForo team. It's probably a small effort.

Thanks
Amal

wpForo doesn't do any registration or login functions. Just provide a "form" for them.

Registrations and login are from Wordpress core. So you will have to search for something like that in Wordpress plugins.

Sorry I don't understand you. Isn't there a `Register` button in the top menu? It opens up a Registration screen. I am not a WordPress (WP) programming expert but is that form generated by WP or programmed by wpForo?

Registrations and logins are handled by Wordpress. I wrote so above, wpForo just provides a form for it.

Ok, I think I understand what you are trying to say. Let me rephrase my question then - would wpForo be interested in changing their form and introducing a new field for mobile number in the user table.

I have a related question - I'll try it here for now rather than open a new topic.

At the top right of each post there are social sharing links:
URL, Twitter and Google+ (in my current set up)

Where in the WP / wpForo stack is that set of available sharing links configured?

I want sharing to a specific WhatsApp Group.

(I do have social media links in other blog contexts, set by JetPack and other plug-ins over the years -but in this particular domain / installation, I have no plug ins specifically for this, so far as I am aware. I've checked and JetPack has both automatic and user sharing to social-media disabled. So I've no idea where the existing links - above - are configured.)
