That is good in order to eliminate "ghost forum" running under the surface.
But, can the admin will be able to allow trusted members that are not admins or moderators to send PM to multiple recipients? That is also important to allow multiple PM on a personal choice of the admin to specific users regardless of thier roll.

No in first version. Multi-user conversation will be the next major feature in PM addon.

PM Addon comes with Facebook message style, you click on Member message icon and it opens FB like message box, then you can chat privately with the user you've chosen.

Is this going to be one-on-one or one-to-many in other words, is there an option to add more members to the message?

No way at the moment, I have no information about this feature development yet.

Do you guys have a quicker way members can view private messages instead of going to their profiles and doing everything the long way. Can a button be added?

There is no a certain option for this, but all is possible with custom CSS.

Does the add-ons fix most of these?

There are only two addons at the moment, they are adding advanced attachment system and advanced embedding options. Addons have no relation to most of your questions.
