Not meaning to rush you, but I just thought I'd inquire about the status of this addon. :-)

I'm having my current xenForo forum converted to wpForo this weekend and am excited to play with all the cool toys. I'd prefer to use the upcoming addon than to use UM, if possible.

- you can hide profile / account pages in wpForo as you seems to love UM profiles / accounts by disabling access and/or (if you want to show) modifying the top menu (I use it for search only)

- you can make a simple 301 redirect from /community/member/* (wpForo) to /members (UM) and forward to any default or modified UM directory

- another forward will ensure people reading the wpForo posts and click on the username get redirected to the UM profile, e.g. a wildcard 301 from /community/profile/* (wpForo) to /user/$1 (UM)

Or you can wait and see if the expected wpForo Profile Custom Fields outperforms UM :)

wpForo use default WordPress user registration functions and hooks. We made it as default and native as possible, this allows other plugin developers to make it integrated very easy, but in case they don't use the default WP registration function it makes incompatible with wpForo. As far as I see UM uses separate logic and function on new user registration so we have no chance to make it compatible. I'm really sorry but this incompatibility can't be solved from wpForo side.

BTW: by end of this month or maybe at the beginning of next month we'll release wpForo Profile Custom Fields addon, which will be 100% integrated with wpForo profile system and WordPress user system. You'll be able to manage users custom fields and registration form fields very easy.

When I manually create a user in WP, I can assign both UM role and wpForo role. The user (in my case after admin approval) is created and has become member in UM and wpForo. 

When a user register themselves through the UM registration form, thus user (after admin approval) is created in WP and a member of UM, but not a member of wpForo. 

Also, when editing the user in the WP backend it shows wpForo group Admin. When changing the wpForo group to (in my case Excellent) (see attached) the user is still listed as part of wpForo usergroup admin, but in reality he is not a wpForo member at all.

Hope this can be solved as the combination UM and wpForo is gold.

So far everything is awesome!

we'd prefere to integrate wpForo with all profile plugins instead of extend forum profile page. However most of Profile plugins API is not easy and well open. For example adding new menu/tab in UM profile page is very complicated, it has user role/permission filters and removes integrated menus. We tried once but no luck. We decided to integrate wpForo with BuddyPress and other profile plugins. but this will be available in 1.1.x versions not in current 1.0.x versions. If we didn't get proper result with profile plugin integration we'll have to improve and extend wpForo profile page.

Currently wpForo is bit integrated with all popular plugins:

• It detects BuddyPress Installation and adds "Site Profile Tab" on forum member profile page.
• You can change Forum Login/Register/LostPass URLs to BuddyPress pages using wpForo Settings > Members > Custom Authorization URLs option.
