This is a 1.6.1 version bug. This issue is already fixed in upcoming update (1.6.2 version). However you can fix it manually until update is released. We don't have an exact ETA for update yet.

Please deactivate wpForo, navigate to Dashboard > Plugins > Editor, select wpForo in Plugins dropdown, in the right sidebar navigate to /wpf-includes/ > and click on class-posts.php file. Then scroll down, find code part from 651 to 671 line and remove that code. Then save it, activate wpForo in Plugins page and delete wpForo cache in Dashboard > Forums > Dashboard admin page using button.

Hi!

I have some issues with private topics since 1.6.0 or 1.6.1 update. Users cannot see replies in private topics, even if they are the topic creator. This is definitly new since 1.6.0 or 1.6.1!
