I have been using WPforo for about 5 years now with no apparent problems, although I had noticed the site seemed to be getting a bit slower.

The other day my host said I must reduce rows in database as there was over a million, which is their limit. We did this.

Then, a couple of days ago they said "the account is still using a much higher amount of CPU than most of the accounts on the server with similar traffic, so additional optimization should be done."

I have been trying to look into this and saw that there were far more visitors than I would expect, up to 5.6k some days. So today I added CloudFlare.

Now I have just received an email from host saying that "the resource usage for this account is not only high, but has increased." I have no idea why it is increasing.

They say my choices are "to either remove the WPForo plugin or move the account to a proper hosting environment immediately."

It is a non-profit site run as a hobby and there is no way a VPS can be afforded.

Is there anything I can do?

Multiple
foro=allread
URLs are averaging 15–22 seconds, with peaks of 30 seconds, each occupying a PHP-FPM worker for the full duration. On my server (2 vCPU), a few concurrent requests of this type saturate the worker pool and spike CPU.

This is a problem in two ways: automated crawlers hitting these URLs cause load spikes, but even a legitimate logged-in member clicking "mark all read" would wait 15–30 seconds for the action to complete.

By the way: Please consider to let there be an excerpt for "Recent Topics", too.

I purchsed WP Discuz Widgets, but I miss a similar designed simple widget like the ones in WPForo.

I have a strange issue whereby some users are reporting that they cannot see the rich text editor when creating or replying to a post. I have seen mention of checking to ensure that a box Disable Rich Text Editor is disabled, (https://wpforo.com/community/postid/72860/) however I am unable to find the location of this box in a user profile to check whether this is the problem.

I have cleared all the WPForo caches and my hosting says that WPForo is excluded from all caches.

Ultimate forum links are set to /user/

wpForo links are set to /member/

The widget updates all of the buttons to point to /user/ except for the "favored" button. That button directs to the wpForo profile page. There isn't a place to change the link or add/remove buttons.

I cleared cache and flushed Permalinks.

What is the best solution for this, or where can it be edited in the code, function, etc?

Slightly off-topic, the same thing happens with messages. Better Messages support isn't offered by wpForo, but it is integrated with UM on the UM profile page. Understandably, there is only a message button when the wpForo private message plugin is active, but it doesn't know to point to the UM messages tab. Also understandable, but it would be better if there was a way to easily edit button links or add custom buttons. Especially since the wpForo notifications function doesn't really integrate well with anything else outside of wpForo.
