Hi, The view count for a topic increases every time a user logs in to the forum, which is normal; however, if the user refreshes the forum page, the view count increases every time, which is not normal. Is there a way to lock the view count for a set period of time, such as 1 hour or 24 hours, to resolve this issue?

Subscriber/Registered Users cannot see forums

I am building a new forum using WPFora and it has been going OK until I try to view the forum as a Subscriber beucas ethey see nothing at all. As the admin I can see everything perfectly. Having checked various posts here I have not found anything that has been set incorrectly to enable the forum to work properly.

I have screenshot what I think are the pictures you ask for in the hope you can tell me what is wrong.

Unsubscribe from topics not working

We are having issues with users not being able to unsubscribe from the forums. We have 2 forum boards.

In the first forum board (SAOH Forum), the Subscription Manager has the following (also shown in attached photo):

Subscribe to all new topics and posts (unchecked by default)
Subscribe to all new topics (unchecked by default)
Categories and topics in a tree menu (unchecked by default)

In the second forum board (SEOH Forum), the Subscription Manager has the following (also shown in attached photo):

Subscribe to all new topics and posts (checked by default)
Subscribe to all new topics (checked by default)
No categories and topics displayed
Beneath where the tree menu would be displayed, it shows individual topic subscriptions

The first forum is behaving as we would expect. The second forum does not allow the user to unsubscribe at all and we're starting to get reports of users who are overwhelmed with the volume of emails. The unsubscribe link in the emails does not

work either.

Yoast and Wpforo clash?

Hi wpForo Team,

I am reaching out regarding a compatibility issue between wpForo and the Yoast SEO plugin. While wpForo states that it is compatible with Yoast, I am seeing conflicting SEO data being generated on my forum topic pages, which is causing issues with duplicate meta tags and broken social media previews.

When I inspect the page source of a community forum post, both wpForo and Yoast are actively injecting data into the , rather than wpForo overriding Yoast.

Here is what is currently outputting on a single topic page:

wpForo's Output: wpForo correctly generates its SEO block (``), including the canonical URL, description, Open Graph tags (og:title, og:description, og:url, og:locale, etc.), and Twitter cards.
Yoast's Output: Immediately below that, Yoast tries to output its own data (). Because it cannot read the dynamic forum content, it outputs an admin warning (), but it still injects duplicate tags like og:locale, article:publisher, and Twitter tags.

The Impact: Because both plugins are outputting Open Graph and Twitter card data, social media platforms (Facebook, X, LinkedIn) are getting confused by the duplicate tags. This results in link previews pulling incorrect formatting or failing to pull the wpForo-generated data.

My Question: Is the built-in Yoast compatibility supposed to automatically disable Yoast's meta output on wpForo pages? If so, it appears to be failing. As a temporary workaround, I have to manually go into Yoast and disable it for the forum's custom post types.

Could your development team look into why Yoast is not cleanly yielding to wpForo's SEO data on topic pages?

wpForo forum page shows empty with Twenty Twenty-Four theme

Hello,

I installed wpForo on my WordPress site running Twenty Twenty-Four theme. The forum index page works fine (shows list of forums), but when I click on any individual forum, the page is completely empty — no content, no header, no footer.

In the page source I can see these PHP warnings:

Warning: Attempt to read property "post_content" on null
Warning: Attempt to read property "ID" on null
page-id- is empty in the body class

The body class shows is_wpforo_page-1 and is_wpforo_url-1 so wpForo recognizes the page, but WordPress cannot load the page content.

I tried:

Hard flush permalinks
Recreating the forum page
Disabling other plugins one by one

WordPress version: 6.9.4 wpForo version: 2.4.17 Theme: Twenty Twenty-Four

Forum not showing for non Moderators

I've tried everything, when my users (Platinum/Gold/Subscriber) are set to admin they can see the Forum, otherwise they cant, literally every settings I have tried. I even set the root forum to guest access and it still doesn't show anything for non moderators.

Prevent marking items as read from slowing down site

Hi there,

We have a fairly large forum community with 40k+ topics and 500k+ posts. Our logs are showing that many queries with the parameter ?foro=allread are causing slowdowns as it triggers heavy DB writes per
user.

Is there a way to prevent this slowdown while still keeping the ability for users to view unread posts?

Is it possible to only offer the read/unread feature to certain roles? Or some other way of reducing it's performance impact?

Allow user to disable signature when posting.

After migrating a large form to WpForo things are going pretty well.

One feature the old forum had was an option, when posting, to not add the signature to that post.

A nice feature on the old forum was the option of not adding one's signature to a post. In a long topic where I post a lot of replies I don't like my signature on every post, too repetitive. I'm in the habit of allowing it on my first post and then disabling on the rest as I reply.

Anything like that possible with WpForo?
