One more thing. The hook we've added to fix your problem will be disabled in upcoming version by default. So we recommend add this hook to your active WordPress theme functions.php file to keep it active after the update:

add_filter('on_wpforo_load_remove_the_content_all_filters', '__return_true');

It was enabled previously (which is why I stupidly didn't think to double check it).

It must have somehow switched itself off (or been switched off during the patch) when I copied the files from the staging to the live environment as per the instructions on the fix.

You should enable the option (mentioned here) on your main site. On the developer website, the option is already enabled. 

Please navigate to Dashboard > Forums > Settings > Features tab, enable the "WordPress Shortcodes in Post Content" option, then delete all caches and check again. 

I've created a dummy topic here with examples of all three of UX Block, Theme and Plugin shortcodes being nerfed.

This was never an issue beforehand. Using blocks lets me quickly edit content within closed threads (like material for my course) without having to open, edit and re-close the thread. Also, it's nice to work in a decent HTML editor. 

Using plugin and theme shortcodes is essential for extending the functionality of the forum.

The fix you kindly applied has totally killed all shortcodes within the forum (including any WP blocks or plugin shortcodes). They just present as plain text now.

First please say what shortcode you use in forum. And where exactly the WP Blocks are killed? On forum page or on other pages? There should not be any WP Blocks on forum pages.

Is there any chance you could fix the fix so this isn't a problem?!

It's a total disaster - a huge chunk of functionality in the forum was being provided by shortcodes and now the whole thing is a mess!

I'm really sorry, but I cannot provide any ETA yet. 

Any idea when the next update is scheduled?

Will help me decide whether to invest an hour or two into this or just to sit tight.
