Please don't disable wpForo Caches. Those don't cause any issue during the test. just leave your forum URL to allow us test it.

Thanks, as far as I can see we don't cache anything at the moment (cache plugin is switched off and in the wpforo settings the cache options are also disabled). Also, for the other "unread post"-icons (of the subforums) it works fine when all items are read. it's just the top-level icon that is not updated.
