Thank you - I found a plugin that customizes the WP login and allows you to remove email (the plugin is called UsersWP) - just in case anyone else is wondering.

Hi,

Disabling the "Enable User Registration Email Confirmation" option does not remove the email field, but, registration will no longer require email confirmation or password reset steps.

Please note that user registration and account creation are handled by WordPress. wpForo only provides a registration form with a different URL and design.

I'd like to make it optional for users to input their email address when creating an account. I turned off "Enable User Registration email confirmation," but the user still needs to input an email address to create an account.

Is there a way to make this optional?
