thanks, it is activated in my profile. The only place it is not working in posts in the forum.

I'll try taking out various plugins and see if I can find out what is causing it.

Also follow to related topics below. Ans make sure the Visual editor is enabled for your account in Dashboard > users > Your Profile admin page.

Ok, I discovered the plugin that, in my case, produces this issue:

Besides not loading the TinyMCE bar, it doesn't allow editing posts either. I open a post in the support forum of that plugin, at the moment I deactivated it, and wpForo works perfectly ;)

Realised my TinyMCE is not working either and a load of content previously created with it now using boxes are not working and are just showing the blah blah.

Perfomance ->Minify (Html/JS/CSS) -> JavaScript Options -> Aggregate JS-files -must been disable!

Found that the problem was in the Clearfy plugin

Now I will understand what his setting affected the work TinyMCE

In my case, the only place where TinyMCE does not work is in the forum. I will try to disable plugins and comment on results.

The creator of my theme diagnosed that editor.min.js and tinymce.min.js file are not loading.

A palliative solution is to manually insert

<script type="text/javascript" src="https://exemple.com/wp-admin/js/editor.min.js">script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="https://exemple.com/wp-includes/js/tinymce/tinymce.min.js">script>;

into the head. Go to Customizer => Header/Logo options => Add Custom code.
Maybe the wpForo team could advise us, we need to forward every idea about this incompatibility to all the involved actors.

Having exactly the same problem with a high-end theme (PenNews) when upgrading to WP 5.x

Once I switch to TwentySeventeen or I revert back to WP 4.9.9 everything is fine.

Or else, nothing in this world can make that TinyMCE editor work in wpForo on WP 5.x.

I suppose it's some WP 5.x bug involved somewhere, interferring with themes a little more complex, or something else, I don't know, the problem is that after waiting for WP 5.0.3 it still doesn't work.

Could you please deactivate all other plugins, switch to some default theme and check again. If it works activate plugins one by one and check after each activation.
