I have the opposite problem. I would NOT want guests to publish anything: if they want to do so, they sign up.
I've done some simulations with nicknames and fake emails and the messages end up in moderation. Useless work. I have the latest release of WPforo (1.6.0). How can I prevent it all? Among the guests, they are defined as read-only in the usergroup table.

Guest Posting is already available. It has been added in current 1.4.4 version.

It means wpForo doesn't work on your website or it conflicts with other plugins. If you don't have important information in forum, I'd recommend Uninstall (not just deactivate) wpForo then install it again. Then disable other plugins and delete all caches before testing it again.

If a guest clicks on a link to a topic that they are not allowed to view it just shows the post with no content it does not show the popup to login or register.

I'm really sorry but Guest Posting is not planned for this moth. We may start work on this next month.

Has this been updated so guest can reply? I see it was said that it should be in the works next month back in January. Just wanted to see if there is an update on this. When I change the access for the guests to allow them to reply when they hit reply it dose nothing. Thank you for any help in advance.
