Hi, I have created a forum on a password protected page on my website and have registered as a test user. The page that appears after registration is the test user´s account page. I don`t see where the test user could make his/her first post on the forum?

The only way the actual forum is currently accessible is through clicking on a link (Supervision Group page - videos, resources & forum, see screenshot) which I have manually created, leading to the page, which contains the forum at the bottom of the page.

Is there a way of directing a freshly registered user to the main forum page to immediately make a post?

Thank you.

Hi @janjan,

I'm really sorry but I have no idea what have you done with forums. Please create a few forums and put your forum in a normal non-password protected page. Leave some screenshot of Dashboard > Forums > Forums admin page to allow us see those.

Also, please read attentive the top information on the Dashboard > Forums > Forums admin page:

You should have a one forum to click on that and see [Add topic] button. Or you can use the Threaded Forum Layout which adds [Add Topic] button directly on forum list.

Hi Robert,

Thank you for your reply.

The posts that will be made in this forum should only be visible for a certain usergroup, which requires the users to access the page containing the forum (and other resources) with a password. The page containing the forum should be invisible for the public and not searchable on our own website.

If I put a forum on a normal page, how can the above criteria be met?

Thanks for your valuable input.

Jana

Hi @janjan,

Not the whole forum should be private. You should have one public forum with some information about how to use this forum, how to register to see all private forums.

Then you should create a Private Forum category with private forums using wpForo Forum Accesses as it's described in wpForo documentation and in this article: https://gvectors.com/how-to-set-up-private-forum/

The forums will not be visible for search engines and for other usergroups. You don't need password protection.
