I try to assist you by adding more information as to what is happening when I post hyperlinks.

Hyperlinks are not displaying correctly as you can clearly see in my intro post above.

Can you give any reason why that link I posted has not displayed correctly on your site?

I do not know why the text "target="true" is displaying after my hyperlinks.

I would have been able to explain the situation more clearly in one single post if you did not not have such a short post edit lock activated on this forum along with a short session logout.

Do you not want me to provide you with information as to what is happening on my installation and to tell you what I see happening to my hyperlinks?

Are you not able to read my replies as a continual thread, or do you just see one post at a time that has no bearing on the comments made before or after?

I don't understand what do you mean saying short session logout. I think this is your browser or PC issue. wpForo doesn't have session issue. You can stay logged in for hours and days.

Please don't copy and paste in visual editor any content or link from other web pages. You're inserting invisible HTML code and you don't see that. Once the post is submitted all becomes crashed.

I copy and post the URL below and all works fine:

https://wpforo.com/community/how-to-and-troubleshooting-2/hyperlinks-behaving-weird/

so I don't see any issue.

Please leave some URL where we can see the problem.

Thanks Robert, believe me I'm just as frustrated this end after trying to sort this issue out until 5am this morning and having my site offline for 3 days with other issues.

I am referring to the edit lock time settings for own posts and topics as controlled by the settings in Topics & Posts tab. (as per attachment)

I write my initial post and post it. Perhaps a few minutes later I try to add a little more detail to my opening post, to keep it all together for you. I then edit that post but when I press submit a red message in top right corner tell me I'm not Authorised to edit the post and all I have written gets lost.

I then have to enter the extra information in a new reply underneath my original post. I therefore question what editing limit is placed upon topics and posts?

As for the Hyperlink issue. What will happen when my users copy a hyperlink from as website as many do. Will it cause future issues similar to what we see above and if so, is there a way I can deactivate that icon from the text editor?

Thank you for taking the time to reply and explaining the issue. The last thing I want to do is cause frustration or confusion to either of us.

I can't say.  All will be good if they don't copy other HTML structures. Clean copy will work fine.

The last thing I want to do is cause frustration or confusion to either of us.

What is the problem? Please explain.
