However as an alternative you can use "Enable User Registration email confirmation" option in Dashboard &gt; Forums &gt; Settings &gt; Features admin page.</p>]]></content:encoded>

                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I used https://wordpress.org/plugins/new-user-approve/ as a solution, but receive the following error when the button to create the account is clicked.</p><p>This page isn’t working</p><p>~domain~ is currently unable to handle this request.<br />HTTP ERROR 500</p><p>I assume this is due to the 3rd party's plugin, not fully enabling the user until approved by the admin.</p><p>It would be great for your team to develop your own user approval process. That way you could control the conditions, screens, etc. during approval.</p><p>Great software, thank you.</p>]]></content:encoded>

If you already have a registration approval function in WP then it'll work for wpForo. If you don't have such function please search for Registration activation plugins, they should work for wpForo too.
