My site has 8 topics in the forums order/hierarchy. Each topic has a list of subtopics posted by the user(s). When a user clicks on the subtopic to respond, I want it to open the topic in the current location.

For example, one of the topics I have is "Hydrology" and a subtopic is "Test". When I click on Test, I am currently redirected to "/community/slug-name". I want to be able to stay in the Hydrology page when the prompt is opened.

Is this possible?

Hydrology is not a regular WordPress page so you can't have the same URL slug. Hydrology is a forum component. All forum components are located under the forum root slug /community/ . This is the only way to load forum components. Plugins differs own pages based on the root slug, without his slug all WordPress plugins will not be able to detect own pages and only WordPress posts/pages would be loaded.

Robert, are you saying that Topics in wpForo behave differently than WordPress pages?

Is it possible to open a subtopic and respond in the current Topics view without being redirected to the root-slug/community/slug path?

Yes, they are different. wpForo forums, topics and posts are not WordPress pages and posts. wpForo content is generated based on URL, so the URL root says now is the forum area and all content are forum content.

So is it possible to open a subtopic and respond in the current Topics view without being redirected to the root-slug/community/slug path? Similar to how in this forum, you can click on reply and type your response without being redirected to a new page.

As I explained above no, it's not possible.

BTW, please use forum and sub-forum words. The topic is not forum, topics are discussions in forums. Forums and Sub-forums are like categories for discussions (topics).
