Hi @jeffgruhler. Welcome aboard! 🙂

wpForo is a Forum Plugin that has a built in Google reCAPTCHA integration.

If you installed another Google reCAPTCHA plugin, they most probably are conflicting. I suggest you disable that extra plugin, and then just use the wpForo Google reCAPTCHA that you can find on:

1) Forum Dashboard
2) Tools
3) Select "Antispam" tab

Under that you will see the Google reCAPTCHA area where you can put your Site Key and Secret Key in those corresponding fields.

woForo has the reCAPTCHA API Keys (version 2, "I'm not a robot" checkbox)

To start using reCAPTCHA, you need to sign up for an API key pair for your site. There's a link on the wpForo Antispam tab,  that directly links you to the google recaptcha page to get your Site Keys.

Also, wpForo has great documentation on

https://wpforo.com/documentation/

We all started out as newbies of wpForo - there is a learning curve, so be patient and kind to yourself as you will learn a lot of new things! And it will be fun!

Also, you can use the "Search" box here on the forum to find quick answers that you might find for your questions.

Good luck and God bless you!

@crisw Can you please help me...I just started using wpForo a week ago and I set up the wpForo ReCaptcha tool. Everything was going swimmingly until today! I have been logged out of my forum on my phone (I can still access it on my laptop), but when I try to login again, I am required to type in an answer to a simple math problem. The issue is that it won't let me type in the box! I imagine it is because I didn't set my ReCaptcha up that way. It was just supposed to be "I am not a robot" checkbox, but I can't figure out how to fix it. HELP!

Hi @laughhopethrive,

Also, Welcome Aboard! 🙂

You can try the steps below:

PLAN A - Disable the conflicting plugin via your Laptop WP LogIn

1) Log In to your wpForo from your laptop.
2) Go to WP Dashboard
3) Then Plugins
4) It has the following links  "All", "Active" and "Inactive" - click the  "Active" link.
5) Select the Google ReCaptcha Tool name (I don't know what is the plugin name of your recaptcha tool that has math :-))
6) Click the "Deactivate" link under that Plugin name
7) Then open an incognito window and try to log in again, and see if that Google Recaptcha math still appears. (It shouldn't after you've deactivated it).
8) If it doesn't, then you can double check your wpForo Google recaptcha settings, using the steps I typed above for Jeff, so you can use the built in recaptcha that wpForo has.

If in case you absolutely can't log in or have been locked out of your WP account because of the other google recaptcha plugin, (or other conflicting plugins) you can also try another technique I always use (because I ALSO get locked out because of conflicting plugins at clients' sites at times, usually caused by "automatic updates" that result in plugin conflicts. :-))

Here's PLAN B - Disable the conflicting plugin via FTP.

1) Go to the /public_html folder of your site.
2) Then the "wp-content" folder
3) Then the "plugins" folder
4) Then look for the conflicting plugin name, example "conflicting_google_recaptcha" (since I don't know the actual name of the conflicting plugin that you are using)
5) Place your mouse on the plugin name, example "conflicting_google_recaptcha" and then "right click" your mouse.
6) A dropdown menu appears, select "Rename"
7) Rename it to something like, "conflicting_google_recaptcha-CONFLICT"
8) Then Press enter to save the new name. (This quick technique basically DISABLES the plugin, by you renaming it).
9) Open another incognito window
10) Then you can enter and login your website.

Hope this helps. Good luck and God bless you! 🙂

Hi @laughhopethrive

You are welcome.  I'm glad it worked out!  The wpForo Team has done a great tremendous awesome super job and it keeps on getting better!  🙂

I'm just a member here - the heroes here are the Support Team and developers, Robert, Sofy, Martin, Alvina, and the other developers behind the scenes, they are the ones with the definitive expertise on this. The other members also share valuable tips!  I just learned/learn from them all in their advise published on this forum (via the Search Box) and also the Documentation here:

https://wpforo.com/documentation/

I just try and give suggestions here too when I can.  Sometimes my suggestions work, sometimes, they don't.  🙂 I checked out your site, yes it looks very professional!

God bless you and your ministry!  🙂
