You can always click on subForum link and add new topic in that subForum. The issue is a bit different and it's already explained here. And yes, this issue is already fixed in next 1.1.2 version.

Hello,
Subforums can be used for example to create a category called "europa" and within a forum for each country, for example "Spain" and then subforum for each city.
You can add a message in the subforums, entering inside. But in the page with all the subforums appears the option of "add topic" and if it is used, it creates a topic in the last subforum created and not in the forum of the country.

I see and verify the point that pep1025 is talking about -

Once a sub forum is created you can not add topics to the parent forum, only to a child forum.

Anyway, for me there is no need for sub forums, I simply add another forum under the category and it serves the same purpose. For example, if I have a category named "Investments" I simply open 2 forums - say, one is real estate and the second one is stock market. If you think about it, each forum under a category is basically like a sub forum.

But, technically I think that the developers should test it again or explain the logic behind it.

1. I've added a topic to a forum
2. It was saved under the forum
3. add a sub forum
4. from that point I could not add any thread to the parent forum.

I was going to put the same topic with this problem. I think it is not good as it is now because it confuses a lot.
Let's see if it changes soon because otherwise I will not be able to use the plugin. :-(

My forum will be based on subforums, and in this way all users will accidentally write in the last subforum added.

I'm happy to hear that my note helped you.
I tested this bug more than a week because I was sure I missed something at the configuration or the used third party plugins occurred it.

If you check the front end photo you can see the "Main forum" level but at the bottom of the window there is the "2. Subforum" instead of the "Main forum".
If I click the add button the new topic will belong to the "2. Subforum" instead of the "Main forum"
The forum title at the bottom always the last subforum. So if I change the hierarchy to "2. subforum" / "Subforum" then the title will be "Subforum".
I hope you can understand the problem. Sorry for my English.

ah I see. You're currently in Main Forum page, here all subForums are one level higher and you see subForums. All is correct. Click on forum Home and you'll see full hierarchy.
