Hi everyone.

Like the title says, youtube videos are not working on ipad

I embed the video into a post with a link, it works fine on most phones and tablets, and works on the PC fine too. But if a user is using the ipad, the video isn't displaying.

If you click where the video is, it will open and play, but unless you do that, you can see it or even know the video is there at all.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

HI @percysgrowroom,

The issue doesn't have any relation with wpForo Embeds add-on.
Could you please check it on other browsers, everything should work fine.

The browser you use has a restriction on videos playing, you just need to change this in browsers setting.

Hi, I encountered the exact same error and it has absolutely nothing to do with iOS settings.

I solved the problem by not adding an actual link (www.youtube.com) but just pasting the link as text (www.youtube.com). The bug can be reproduced on every iOS-device - if you paste the link as link, a white space appears, if you click on the space it takes you to the video. If you post the link as plain text it works perfect.

As I am no programmer at all I do not know where the exact error is, but it must be on the wpforo addon itself.

@weneeditreally I actually just posted about this same issue except I was testing on my iPhone 10... the auto-embed works when you remove the link from the forum post... when you post as a link, it just shows a white space that links to the YouTube video when viewing on iPhone safari. Could the plugin be adjusted so the videos will show up on iPad and iPhone? Thanks! - Devin
