Hi,
I'm trying to create a page with /forum/ (community) as the parent but it loads a 404 page instead.
I'm trying to implement a live chat feature into the forum on this url:
https://smallcaps.com.au/forum/chat/
I want it to look similar to this but with the wpForo sidebar:
https://hangthebankers.com/chat/
Image attached to show what I'm trying to achieve.
ie. the chat in the page, with the wpForo sidebar.
The chat feature runs on a simple shortcode.
Basically want it to look like the live chat page is part of the forum.
How is it possible to do this?
Thanks
Hi @stocksforum,
You can follow these steps to get it to work:
- create a new support topic
- add shortcode in topic content
- navigate to Dashboard > Forums > settings > Feature admin page, make sure the "WordPress Shortcodes in Post Content" option is enabled.
- remove additional content via CSS code.
Hi Sofy, by creating a topic to create an extra layer to the url:
/forum/category/chat/
For legal reason I need to be able to make:
smallcaps.com.au/forum/terms/
smallcaps.com.au/forum/privacy/
And for practical reasons need the live chat to be:
smallcaps.com.au/forum/chat/
How is this possible?
For the live chat the shortcode will work, however for the terms and privacy pages I need to be able to place text. And also I need to be able to select full width for the terms and privacy pages, but for the live chat show the forum sidebar.
How can this be custom coded?
It keeps making 404 redirects.
This is a developer job, you should ask some developer to do that for you. I'm really sorry, but there is not an easy solution which I can post it here.
