Hello everyone,

I am trying to use the Go2wpForo tool to move to wpForo from AnsPress. I have downloaded the latest version of wpForo and have Wordpress 5.2 and the latest version of AnsPress.

My AnsPress tables are on the current database so I click current database. Everything shows up ok and I get green checkmarks for my database and table prefixs.

However at the end it says, "Migrate2wpForo Notice: We can't find this board on this system".

I have cleared all cache, tried uninstalling and re-installing Migrate2wpForo, I used a secondary and correct database prefix and tried without the secondary prefix, I disabled my purchased wpForo plugin and re-attempted all of the above. All to no avail. I know my database information is correct.

Any ideas?

Hi @nicolembernd,

I think the tool cannot connect to your AnsPress database or something so. First please deactivate the tool and activate it again. Then make sure you fill table prefix of AnsPress database correctly. This error only comes when the tools SQL queries return zero forums, topics, and posts.

And please leave a screenshot of the Statistic Section on the 3rd step of the migration. We need to make sure it finds all AnsPress Forums, topics, and Posts.

In case you want to say thank you !) We'd really appreciate and be thankful if you leave a good review on plugin page. This is the best way to say thank you to this project and support team.

I have attempted to de-activate and activate multiple times but the issue persists 🙁

I use the same database as my main wp database to host all anspress and wpforo content. I have attached a screenshot of the third step as requested.

I have also tried without a second prefix, with ap, and with ap_. None resolve the issue.

Anyone have any ideas? I've tried everything and can't get the plugin to recognize my data tables even though everything checks out ok on the screenshot above. I know the information is correct and the plugin should be able to find the tables.

PS - if it helps me get support, I have paid for wpforo addons, so I am a paying customer 🙂

Hi @nicolembernd .  Here's an idea that came to my mind. 🙂  (And no worries, I do not expect any payment!  LOL!

Have you checked your Web Server Version? Or your MySQL or PhP Version?   It could be that the PhP or MySQL is a "lower version" that's why the wpForo can't find the tables

You can check your current PhP version (the upgrading of your Server Information is dependent on your webhosting company, you can just as easily call them up to upgrade your site, if you discover that "that" is the issue).

I bumped into a similar issue and just called my webhosting company to upgrade that website where wpForo is installed to their highest PhP version.

Here's how to check your Server Information:

1) Go to Forums
2) Tools
3) Click the "Debug" tab
4) on the "Debug Information" row, Select "Server"

That is where you will see your own Server Information which will also include information on your

Web Server
PHP Version
MySQL Version

5) Then check and see if your Versions match the wpForo Server Requirements for your installation to run properly.

Here's the link to wpForo's Documentation on the Server Requirements

https://wpforo.com/docs/root/wpforo-installation/server-requirements/

Server Requirements

To run wpForo we recommend your host supports:

  • PHP version 5.6 or greater
    • PHP DateTime Class
    • PHP XML Parser (for PHP7, enable php7.0-xml extension)
    • PHP Limits (recommended)
      • memory_limit = 256M
      • upload_max_filesize = 128M
      • post_max_size = 128M
      • max_execution_time = 180
      • max_input_vars = 10000
    • PHP Multibit String Functions
      • mbstring.language = all
      • mbstring.internal_encoding = UTF-8
      • mbstring.http_input = auto
      • mbstring.http_output = UTF-8
      • mbstring.encoding_translation = On
      • mbstring.detect_order = UTF-8
      • mbstring.substitute_character = none;
      • mbstring.func_overload = 0
      • mbstring.strict_encoding = Off
  • MySQL version 5.6 or greater
    • InnoDB support (recommended)
  • Apache

That’s really it. We recommend Apache or Nginx as the most robust and featureful server for running wpForo, but any server that supports PHP and MySQL will do. That said, we can’t test every possible environment and each of the hosts on our hosting page supports the above and more, such as https://kinsta.com/&source=gmail&ust=1549379328873000&usg=AFQjCNF7AEQc1UHJFyJREXKIiISCTtCtT A">Kinsta (premium managed WordPress hosting provider)  with no problems.

Note: If you are in a legacy environment where you only have older PHP or MySQL versions, wpForo also works with PHP 5.2.4+ and MySQL 5.0+, but these versions have reached official End Of Life and as such may expose your site to security vulnerabilities.

Surely, the creators of the wpForo Migration tool tested it to work, provided that all the variables, like the "Server Requirements" are in place.

I also noticed you wrote you "purchased wpForo"?  The Forum plugin is free.

Did you mean the "Addons?"  For the "Addons", they have a different Support Forum at:

https://gvectors.com/forum/official-wpforo-addons/

This Support Forum is for the FREE wpForo Forum 🙂  (And I'm just a Member here that help for free, too, when I can).

Good luck and God bless you!  🙂

I'm just a member here who used to be a newbie.

The case: When I actually put my keyboard where my forum is, and became #172. Can you imagine if you had to build this forum yourself? How kind and patient will you be? The best way to say thank you is say it, write it, and then head on over at Wordpress plugin page and rate wpForo 5 stars - by clicking here.
