Migration from Kunena

Hey Guys,

I am switching from Joomla to WP. The forum wpForo looks good and I have a few problems with the migration.

Basically the migration works. But in the Joomla database I now have three different prefixes_Kunena_...
With the prefix "bak_" it works great. But here I am missing data from the last 4 years.
So this prefix was used for Joomla 2 and/or 3.
The latest prefix "j17_", on the other hand, does not push any data to WordPress with the migration tool. Only the users are transferred. But the process runs smoothly. Just without data transfer.

I recently went from Joomla 3 to 4 and finally 5. Kunena was also upgraded from 5 to 6.
This entire switch did not go without problems, which is why I want to switch to WP.

Does anyone have any ideas what I can do?

Kunena to Wpforo?

Hi guys, I have a site and forum on Joomla with Kunena, newest version of both. I have a site already created in Wordpress, but setup a copy of buddy press. I'm going to remove buddy press because there's no members yet and install Wpforo. I want to port in the forum data from kunena to wpforo.

The main reason for this is that I'm now on a hosting platform that is WP focused and Joomla is a handful to update. I like the WpForo for it's dynamic aspects and because it looks very similar to what the members are used to with Kunena.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also, if you have ideas, please include them. All input is welcome and appreciate

I was try to migrate my mybb forum to wordpress wpForo.
Migration of forums and reply goes fine, but users are not migrated.

If i open some topic at migrated forum, all users have username Anonymous.

Kunena to wpForo not importing topic replies

I just tried my first transfer of a Kunena forum to wpForo, it was relatively large, but it seemed to migrate successfully, but when starting to compare the two forums, I noticed that while all the main topics are there, most of the replies to any topic are missing.

Has anyone else had this issue? Is there something I'm missing in the settings?

Hi. I understand that there isn't any official support for migrating to another software, but this discussion is quite necessary because the ability to switch platforms is a major feature for a forum. Most migration services do not have any tools for migrating away from WPforo, and it's a major liability to let a forum grow to a massive size without knowing if we can switch platforms later on.

Has anyone tried to migrate to another software, perhaps to myBB? I know that wpForo has a migration plugin to migrate from myBB, can this tool be "Reversed" to migrate to myBB, a platform that migration services do support?

I'm looking at the SQL database for wpForo right now, and it looks straightforward enough - but I don't currently have the skills needed to do this work. I'll be learning and updating my progress here, hopefully another user with experience or the WPforo staff can help me out if I run into a snag. And if the myBB -- >WpForo plugin can be reversed, it would give WPforo the legitimate feature of giving forum admins flexibility if they want to change their CMS or their entire back-end.

As Go2wpForo does not support XenForo, is there any other script/tool/way to migrate from XF to wpForo?
