Does gVectors offer migration as a service for a fee?  I have an old forum based in MegaBBS ASP Forum Software. It contains aut 75,000 posts in 9500 threads on 27 forums.  The are 11408 registered users.  The form may be seen at  http://sidecar.com/mbbs22/category-view.asp.

Hi Gespanne,

Thank you for your interest in wpForo and for suggesting us this migration job.

Yes, this forum can be very easy migrated to wpForo. Started from 1st August of this year we've created a professional team for forum migration services. This team is specialized in any forum platform to wpForo migration services as well as in other forum migration projects. For more information please contact our support team via support[at]gvectors.com email address.

In case you want to say thank you !)
We'd really appreciate and be thankful if you leave a good review on plugin page. This is the best way to say thank you to this project and support team.

Dang, I wish I would have seen this sooner. I hired one of the suggested migration companies as posted in this forum. They said if I had all the data to them by Thursday night, they'd have it done by Saturday. However, I believe Saturday is now officially over in their timezone and now my old site is turned off and not available to my 50k unique monthly visitors for an unknown amount of time. This morning, they asked for the old xenForo admin login, which I had provided them in our very first communication of requested information, so I don't know where we stand at this point. I'm thinking about going back live and removing their access.

Service provider: "We can start the work on Saturday. But, because of we don't work on Sunday, the work will be done on Monday. If you could provide us required data on Friday, we'll finish by weekend." (this was the initial promise before we talked further about details)

I provided the information they needed on Thursday night, a day early. On Saturday, they asked for login information to the old forum which I had already provided to them on Thursday night. They also asked for payment on Saturday, which I paid within minutes of the request. Now it's Monday -- my site is still down, their communication sucks, my users miss their favorite website, and my advertisers are missing out on clicks. I regret very much hiring them to do this work.

I believe their work day is over at this point, so I can only assume that I'm screwed for yet another day at this point.

We've contacted to Profprojects, they said the migration was finished on time, the problem is uploading all migrated data to your server. The server doesn't allow them to upload big database, so they asked you for FTP connection to try import database using other tools. So please make sure the server you use is good for the project you requested. They have finished work on Sunday as promised and they provided the migrated forum demo on Sunday too. After this they are not able to import all data to your server because of your server poor resources and limits. Please contact them and provide all necessary data (FTP etc) to allow them upload wpForo database and file attachments to your server

I didn't hear a peep from them with this information until 20 minutes ago. All of this information was provided to them on Thursday night. If it were a problem on Thursday, they should have said so before starting. A good developer always reviews client provided data prior to starting work.

The project is a migration, not just a conversion of data. So no, the project has not been completed.

This is because they were trying to install it on the wrong (old) server, not the new server with the access information I provided to them days ago. It's a matter of simply reading their emails, it's obvious that they received the emails since they managed to answer some of them. I was careful to respond in the same email thread in order to maintain the conversation. Throughout the process, I also asked a couple of other questions that went completely unanswered. I would be happy to provide a full transcript of the email conversation to anyone who is interested.

Thank you for this information Harness, we'll contact them again. We'll do our best to help finish this project as clear as possible. The main reason of this project duration issue is the misunderstanding of target server access details. We've never heard of issues related to migration process speed and quality of this service. They have already migrated hundreds of stand-alone forum platforms to wpForo during last year.
