I've migrated a large phpBB for wpForo. So glad the tool works.

After finishing the migration and checking the results I tried to deactivate the Go2wpForo plugin. It takes so long to deactivate that it results in a 500 server error. Any insight or suggestions on what needs to happen here? I guess I don't need the migration plugin anymore, but what about the tables it leaves behind and the steps needed to deactivate the plugin?

Thanks for any help.

When you disable Go2wpForo plugin, it clears some unnecessary data. So it may take some time which can be ore then your server processing timeouts. But after the 500 Server error it continues clearing unnecessary data and finishes the work. Your website should be up  and running in a few seconds so you have noting else to do and nothing to worry.

Thank you for the responses. I already had the php max_execution_time set pretty high.

When I return to the plugin page after the 500 server timeout the plugin is still active. So I guess the deactivation process isn't quite finishing the work it's meant to. Can I manually delete the plugin with ftp? If so, what unnecessary data can I remove from the database?

I'm really happy with how the plugin did it's job. But I would like to remove it now that the work is done.

Giving this another try.

I still can't deactivate the Go2wpForo plugin. Clicking the deactivate plugin link results in a 500 server error after  long timeout. I check the database and nothing is cleared out. I'd really like to know what unnecessary data a successful deactivation is supposed to remove. I can go into phpMyAdmin and remove it myself if I know what to drop.

Ok, then this is just an unnecessary step. You should delete Go2wpForo folder from /wp-content/plugins/ directory. All will be ok, the plugin will be removed from WP system.
