We'll add new option in next release to Ignore suspected file attachments. I've already mentioned this here:

What was the version you've updated? If the custom theme was created with 1.1.2 you don't need to update. The lower versions should be updated.

Sure, this was only done for antispam purposes. We'll improve it for sure.

This file is used for internal documentation for admins of wpForo install and customization :)

wpForo Spam Control only scans /wp-content/uploads/wpforo/ directory. This file was uploaded to wpForo attachments directory. There is no way to upload file from Media Library to wpForo attachment directory, you've uploaded it by creating a forum post, which was deleted.

Please use WordPress Media Uploader to do this kind of uploads. Don't put it in wpForo attachment folder if you don't use it in posts.

Just installed 1.2.0 without a glitch.
In no time I got a message of possible spam attachment.

All is correct, this is not a bug. It's not flagged as spam it's suspected as spam the title of this section is "Possible Spam Files". Probably the reason is you don't use this file in any post or the filename is non-recognizable/non-searchable. Please make sure this file is used in forum posts. We'll add new option in next release to Ignore suspected file attachments.

Well, this is a file that I've uploaded to the media library and not as attachment  to a post and the owner is the admin...
So why is it flagged as spam?

Is it mandatory to activate Akismet?

Akismet is not mandatory, but recommended.
