How can I put the private messages module in a floating bubble? Notifications on the bubble would be even better.

I assume you are looking for a support chat that is displayed at the bottom right of many pages
You can ask >> here
But I don't think you can convert private messages to a support chat

visit my german wpForo Community > Tutrix.de
with lots of customization & modification, e.g. hover cards, topic/post preview on mouseover, chatbox and much more...
