Anyone tried it?

I'm thinking about updating the theme to something more trending and appealling.

I've tried the Twenty Seventeen, it looks cool for the blog part of my site, but, I'm having some difficulties adopting it for the forum part where I'm struggling with full-width.

Any comments and/or suggestions?

Thanx.

Hi @yossik,

I've been playing around with the layouts using a variety of themes, and have also drastically changed the "classic" layout as can be shown in this example

https://www.phenomlab.com/community/platform-t/moving-from-security-awareness-training-to-building-a-culture-of-security/

It's a work in progress, but almost completed (also responsive). I personally haven't tried 2017, but I'd be fairly sure it'll work fine. The widths can be difficult to work out, but not impossible.

Happy to help you with this if you'd like ?

Regds

@anonymous3542 ,your site looks terrific.

What theme are you using?
As a volunteer for not for profit organizations I can devote some of my time, therefore I'm looking for "out of the box" solution with minor modifications and optimizations.

@yossik - thanks. The theme in use is Impreza. It's not cheap (around USD 60.00), but very well written -  https://themeforest.net/item/impreza-retina-responsive-wordpress-theme/6434280

There are a variety of free themes, but I've found in my experience that these same "free" themes come at a price - they are lacking on some respects, and you end up hitting a brick wall in terms of the functionality you require. I'm also using a number of paid plugins (Ultimate Member etc), but have also written a number of functions myself (I'm a developer).

I'd be more than happy to help you get the layout and look you desire. If you research hard enough, it's always possible to find free stuff that can assist in the journey (and keep the budget low).

Hi @anonymous3542, I am having a simular challenge.

Installed the WpForo forum, and the functionality and speed is good, but I am looking at how to get the look more in line with a classic twentyseventeen theme. Your original link no longer works, just curious if you ultimately succeeded or went a different route.

Boris

@boris that link is pretty old now. I've since moved domains (although keeping phenomlab.com open), and my new site can be found at https://inocul8r.net/session/community/

I actually never used the 2017 theme, but would be happy to help you get where you need to be.
