A wpForo support thread asks how to embed YouTube videos on a forum, and related wpForo threads discuss YouTube embeds, responsive video embeds, and video loading inside posts.
For a WordPress forum that allows YouTube tutorial, support, or community videos, I would separate the embed problem from the text problem:
1. wpForo or the embeds add-on handles whether the video appears correctly.
2. A short human-written summary helps members decide whether to watch.
3. If the YouTube video exposes usable captions or subtitles, TXT transcript text can help a moderator or author draft notes, timestamps, or accessibility context.
4. SRT and VTT should stay timed subtitle handoff files, not ordinary forum-post copy.
5. The post should not imply every YouTube video has a usable transcript or that captions are always accurate.
For wpForo communities that embed YouTube videos, where would you put transcript-derived text: in the same post below the embed, in a short summary only, in a separate resource reply, or nowhere unless the author explicitly provides it?
Disclosure: I work on a small YouTube transcript workflow, but I am intentionally not linking it here. I am asking about wpForo post structure and moderation, not promoting a tool.
