Hello,

Before I upgrade to the new version, I just want to make 100% sure:

Can you please confirm that the "Recent Topics Widget" in the new version STILL includes the option of "RANDOM"?

Many thanks,

Lucky

Thank you very much, Softy. I appreciate your reply.

SEO Question:

Currently in the old version I am using, the meta SEO title is automatically created this way:

topic title + Forum title + board title

May I know if the new version 3.....is the same, or will I be able to control the SEO title?

If not, can you offer all the details about what will happen to the current SEO titles wants I upgrade??

Many thanks!

I am also wondering, what EXACTLY are the SEO benefits of upgrading to the new system?

@lucky

Hi Lucky,

You're very welcome!

Regarding SEO, wpForo 3.x still has its own built-in SEO system. It generates and manages the SEO metadata for forum pages, including Meta Title, Meta Description, Canonical URL, Open Graph tags, Image URL, and Twitter tags.

You can find the detailed information here:

wpForo SEO – Documentation

Regarding the exact Meta Title structure, wpForo generates the topic SEO title automatically. In the previous version, the topic title could be customized using the wpforo_seo_topic_title hook. This allowed developers to modify or remove parts of the generated title.

For example, our support documentation shows how the topic title can be modified:
wpForo SEO – Support Topic

So, if you currently have a specific SEO title structure that you want to preserve, please send us an example URL from your current forum. We can check the current title structure and advise you more precisely about what to expect after upgrading.

As for the SEO benefits of upgrading to v3, the new version continues to provide wpForo's built-in SEO system, including SEO metadata and the built-in forum sitemap. The sitemap is generated dynamically and includes forums, topics, and member profiles.

The v3 documentation provides more details here:
wpForo SEO – Sitemap and SEO Features

We'd be happy to check your current setup before you upgrade, especially since you want to make sure your existing SEO titles are not affected.

@sofy

Thank you for that.

My current Topic Meta Titles all use the same structure:

Topic Title + Forum Title + Board Title

Is this exact structure maintained in wpForo 3?

Also, in wpForo 3, do I have the option to manually create a custom Meta Title for an individual topic when needed, instead of using the automatic title structure?

Here is a live example from my current forum:
