I'm experiencing an issue with wpForo user access settings. I’ve configured the forum to be read-only for guests and standard access for subscribers (with the "Can create topic" permission disabled). However, the following problems persist:

1. Guests are still able to post replies/comments to forums, which they shouldn’t.
2. Subscribers can still create topics, even when I’ve disabled the option in their access settings.
3. Unapproved (moderation) comments are appearing publicly, even though they should be hidden until approved.

I've double-checked all forum access settings, usergroup permissions, and individual forum permissions, but nothing seems to be working correctly.

How can I fix this so:

1. Guests have true read-only access,
2. Subscribers cannot create topics,
3. And unapproved posts/comments are not visible to the public?

Any help is appreciated!

I've already made those changes and cleared cache but still to no avail. Guests/Subscribers can still create topic and Guests can still post comments. Also I can't find the Features in the forums settings to configure the display of unapproved posts. How do I fix this?

I figured out how to fix it. The user group access per role was set up correctly, and the forum settings were properly configured so each role had the right access.

The key thing I discovered is that permissions also need to be assigned per topic. It doesn't automatically inherit the permissions from the parent forum it’s placed in. So even if the parent forum has the correct role-based access, each new topic still needs to have its permissions manually configured.

Hopefully this helps anyone else running into the same issue!
