I have installed WpForo on a new site for progressive City Council Candidate Melanie Bernhardt of Colorado Springs, CO. The site has the attachments and embed plug-ins enabled. Her forums are meant to engage the general public to discuss the issues important to her campaign. We have also installed the Access Press Social Login Lite plugin, and have configured it for Facebook, Twitter and Google social logins. The WpForo didn't need much customization, because we used the green style in the settings which looks nice and seamless with the rest of the site.
I did need to turn off the SEO feature because it was conflicting with the All in One SEO Pro that we installed, but SEO is taken care with that plugin.

Please note, wpForo doesn’t use post types. wpForo is designed for full-fledged professional discussion boards with millions of topics and posts. Post types are stored in wp_posts and wp_postmeta tables, if we use post types forum will overload WordPress resources. wpForo uses separate tables for topics and posts, thus it works very fast and doesn’t make heave WordPress. The forum can be tracked as a separate CMS, it’s a large project which may have millions of entries. Keeping such a large project in separate tables is a good way to keep WP and other WP plugins intact. Those performances will not depend on the size of your forum.
For wpForo, the best option is the built-in wpForo SEO system. Only the built-in wpForo SEO functions can generate SEO titles and descriptions. Please exclude the forum page from this plugin. Other SEO plugins don't disable wpForo SEO and don't work on forum pages, they only work on website non-forum pages, thus don't affect forum SEO.
