How to remove large quoting gap? | Relevance | 7 years ago | nando4 | How-to and Troubleshooting
Hi team, On our wpforo forum (using gvectors classic theme), we have a large quoting gap like shown below. You can see the large empty space from the reply user, the quote, and his response beneath it. How can I remove this? The work around so far being to respond *above* the quote, yet still if the response is short there is a lot of unused realestate between the response and the quote below it.

Would like a horizontal line to separate some text, but can't make one. Here's what the <hr> tag between two lines of "**" appears as. You can see it doesn't appear. How can I get a horizontal line without resorting to using hacky underscores?

These two features will be added together: Merge Topics Move Replies A very useful feature to reduce repeat topic creation and associated forum clutter. Can then just merge same topics into a single topic. Am looking forward to this feature.
Is it possible to add a spoiler to current wpforo? | Relevance | 7 years ago | nando4 | How-to and Troubleshooting
Hi all, I have a long post in a wpforo thread and would dearly like to hide some content behind a spoiler (click to reveal) that a user clicks if relevant to them. That would shorten my post considerably. I tried to add some custom CSS code in the Forum dashboard setting, then reference it using a div spoiler html code but it doesn't work. Can anybody advise an easy method of getting a spoiler to work? Thank you.
Forum post right/top anchor links broken with 1.1.2 release - UI or DB glitch? | Relevance | 7 years ago | nando4 | How-to and Troubleshooting
Eg: clicking on the post anchor link on the right top at: Sees it choose a URL at for the post which doesn't exist. Is this a broken DB or just a minor glitch with the UI? Can a timely fix be forthcoming? EDIT: the post anchor works correctly for this forum. EDIT #2: new posts after the 1.1.2 upgrade are also using the correct anchor. It's just appears pre-1.1.2 posts are affected. EDIT #3: the anchor has just added the /paged/2/ to the URL when it's a post on the first page. So looks like a UI issue. Rather than being: it should be:

Posted by: antonM nando4, you can edit your layout files for output topics titles of desired length. Just in file forum.php of your layout find wpforo_text($last_post_topic['title'], 30) and change 30 to your value. For example 40. Thank you. Found the line and made the change in /wp-content/plugins/wpforo/wpf-themes/classic/layouts/2/forum.php. With a live forum, how do I now activate this change with minimal downtime for the users? Is it a matter of deactivating, then activating the WPFORO plugin?
RE: Topic Titles | Relevance | 7 years ago | nando4 | How-to and Troubleshooting
antonM, I changed it to 40, then 60. It didn't make any difference. The topic title is limited to 36 chars, or 39 with the "...". eg below: PCI Express vs. Thunderbolt - How mu... Any other ideas? Edit, maybe increase the 36 in this one instead? <a href="<?php echo esc_url($wpforo->post->get_post_url($last_post)) ?>"><?php echo esc_html(wpforo_text($topic['title'], 36, false)) ?></a>
RE: Topic Titles | Relevance | 7 years ago | nando4 | How-to and Troubleshooting
Yep.. the alteration to /wp-content/plugins/wpforo/wpf-themes/classic/layouts/1/forum.php in my last post did it . Now I'm enjoying 70char width topic titles.

Just discovered 1.2.0 has a weird anchor bug as well. The correct anchor link for the following post: When click on the post's top right corner to get the anchor it gives the incorrect URL. It's missing the "paged/5/" page. This same incorrect URL is used in the list of recently updated topics on the right sidebar such that clicking it goes to the opening post. Can you guys add a fix for this in the next update? Thank you
RE: Request for wpForo | Relevance | 7 years ago | nando4 | General Discussions
wpforo, could you pls provide a 'quote' post option that removes any previous quotes and only quotes unquoted post text? atm the users need to manually edit out prior quotes to prevent nested quotes, which they don't tend to do. So quotes get repeat (nested) in a redundant fashion/

How to do 'posts in last 24 hours' search and return results without search input fields/forms? | Relevance | 7 years ago | nando4 | How-to and Troubleshooting
I have a sidebar widget that searches and then shows forum posts within the last 24 hours. To maximize screen real estate, I'd like to remove all the search input fields/forms it shows so can show the search results instead. Those input fields are not necessary since we know our search parameters. Can it be done easily? If so, how? |
