We're looking to move over a large community of 40k users from bbPress to WPForo. We're getting through most of the technical setup questions (thanks to everyone who helped) and are currently in limited testing with a small number of users.

Does anyone have experience running WPForo on a forum with 10k-100k users, hundreds to thousands of replies and posts a day, and 10k-100k views a day?

I'd be very interested to hear the experience of admins who have run large communities on WPForo.

Thanks!

@vanessa we run a community with over 25k users. WPForo behaves normally on it, however, we certainly do not have thousands of posts every day.

Another good example of a big WPForo community is the GVectors site itself. There are several members here with big communities such as https://percysgrowroom.com/ which account for thousands of users and lots of activity on their forum and as you can see his site runs great.

@realact Thanks, I appreciate your insight!

Did you notice WPForo slow down at all as more users joined?

Both GVectors and the link you sent seem pretty zippy

@vanessa no, I haven't noticed any slowdown with any of these forums, if anything they've got faster than before. Do notice, however, that they have lots of optimization obviously and probably run WordPress sites without a ton of plugins to slow things down or unnecessary database calls etc.

@realact gotcha, thx!

We use Plugin Organizer so we can isolate how many plugins load for different sections of the site.

The eternal battle between features and performance 😅
