Most of us are using shared host and some limit on storage and bandwidth.
If many users will upload pics, docs etc. we, sooner or later, will have to upgrade our plan at the hosting provider and it will hurt our pockets.
Therefore I suggest to add 3 options:
1. Save storage space in gallery - to enable/disable direct uploads based on users' group
2. Save bandwidth - to limit the number of embed links to be defined by the admin.
3. For new user - put messages with links and/or pics in quarantine and subject to admin/moderator approval to eliminate spammers. That restriction will be lifted after after predefined messages that they had contributed to the forum.
I assume that point 3 is the most challenging but 1 &2 are strait forward.
