Is there a way to create a widget on my WP Homepage Sidebar that would serve to allow folks to login/register without having to navigate to the forum?

I have come up with a work-around. I added a custom html widget with links to Login, Logout and Register.

Your forum looks really nice - its come a long way since I first saw it.
Did you style your sidebar widgets to have that sort of see through effect? Or was it inherited with your theme?

That sidebar effect is inherited as part of the theme. I am using GridiculousPro. https://themes.bavotasan.com/themes/gridiculous-pro-wordpress-theme/
