I have seen that forum platform Fora has this cool layout that I think would benefit wpForo if implemented. They have this style where posts with pictures are featured on top. (Not sure if you have any control on what shows up there) Posts with pictures also feature a thumbnail of at least one of the pictures included on the thread.
The rest of the layout actually shows categories and all, but it's a dynamic list of the most recent threads on the forum overall, but it's not static. (though you can make how the categories order stays static if you want).
It would be great if wpForo gave us a layout like that.
