Hi team, users cannot create accounts using names such as "María" or "Sofía", they get the error attached. Is there any way to solve this? ("characters are not allowed")

This is not wpForo issue. This comes from WordPress. wpForo is based on WordPress user registration and processing functions. You should ask this question to WordPress support forum or just try "WordPress Special Characters in Usernames" plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-special-characters-in-usernames/
