Hi, this plugin looks very promising and I hope to see it succeed as a wordpress forum alternative.
I am trying to set it up with an intranet (internal access only) WP site that is using the PATHINFO permalinks
eg: http://mysite.com/intranet/index.php/community/
-I would need to set the base URL as above, but I can't. When I try to enter that base url in the settings, it always resets to be http://mysite.com/intranet/community/
If I type in something else like http://mysite.com/intranet/banana/community/, then it resets to http://mysite.com/intranet/banana/ ...it won't let me extend the url any further.
Is there any other way to change this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Hi Brett,
thank you for trying wpForo. We just released Beta-3 with some fixes regarding to Base URL.
Now you can use URL like example.com/index.php/community/
However, please note, the Base URL should be identical the Page URL which includes [wpforo-index]
shortcode. If the Base URL is not equal with forum Page URL forum has no chance to work.
If you need to change forum page you should put [wpforo-index]
shortcode in new page content and insert the new page URL in Dashboard > Forums > Settings > General Tab > "Forum Base URL" option field. Those should be the same.
Hello Robert,
I've follow that step your post above and then after save change.
Forum Base URL remain / sign only! Is it a bug? How to solve it?
Take a look a screenshot.
Regards,
If you don't have forums, topics and posts I'd recommend you Uninstall (not just deactivate) wpForo then install it again. The uninstall button removes all forum tables and data and installs it again.
If you have some data in forum you should open website database manager (phpMyAdmin) then fin wp_options table and search for wpforo_url option and change the value manually to e.g. /forum/ or so...
