Hi!

I am not receiving any email notifications for posts needing moderation. Can confirm that email is working for subscriptions for new topics, etc. but I do not receive anything alerting me that a new topic is awaiting moderation. I have ensured that my email is correct in the admin email setting. Any help with troubleshooting or clarification on settings would be greatly appreciated!

- Make sure that the option to send email notifications for posts awaiting moderation is checked in your forum/moderation settings.

- Find the "Moderation" or "Notifications" section in your admin panel and check that notifications are enabled.

- Check your filters and spam folder

@zygzak thanks. I don’t see explicit settings for sending email notifications for posts awaiting moderation. Could you provide the path?

I do have all available notifications enabled and I am getting notifications for other things, just nothing for moderation (and I checked my spam folders as well).

Thanks for the help!

Just to follow up, when I go to Forums -> Moderation, I only see the listing of posts that require moderation. I don't see any options there for email notification.

When I go to Forums -> Settings -> Forum Notifications, all options are toggled on.

When I go to Settings -> Email Settings, I don't see any options for Moderation. All other settings appear correct and I (admin) receive notifications for new topics as selected. Do I need to enable "Notify Admins via Email on New Post" as well? I only want an email if I need to moderate, not one for every new post.

Should I be seeing a option to send email notifications for posts awaiting moderation in one of these menus?

Thanks!

@jw0068

Please use the "Forum Admins Email Addresses" option. It's located in the Dashboard > wpForo > Settings > Email Settings admin page. This documentation might be helpful as well: https://wpforo.com/docs/wpforo-v2/settings/email-settings/#from-name-and-email-address

@sofy Thanks! I checked these settings and all appears to be correct. If I turn on "notify admin of new topic/reply" I get those sent to the admin email address, so I *think* that part is all set correctly.

I am just not seeing any settings for moderation emails, and I have never received one of those.

Thanks for your help!

To enable admin email notifications for posts that need moderation, follow these steps (for WordPress users):

  1. Go to your WordPress Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Discussion.
  3. Under the Other Comment Settings section, make sure the option "Email me whenever" is checked for "A comment is held for moderation".
  4. Save your changes.

This will ensure the admin is notified when content requires moderation. You can also customize settings to manage notifications as needed.

@clientwork Thank you! So the moderation emails are sent outside of wpforo, by Wordpress itself. I see. I do have that option checked though, so I remain stumped as to why I am not getting them!

I may have figured it out! The main admin email within Wordpress did not match my wpforo admin email address. I have changed it there. Hopefully this solves it!

Thank you @clientwork for providing the info that moderation was handled via Wordpress, not within wpforo as I thought!
