The Lightbox does not work when I add an image by URL.
It works with an attachment and it also works with the Blog-cross-posting plugin for the featured image.
Have you encountered this problem? Do you have a solution? please!

There is no any lightbox in wpForo, so all is correct, it won't work.
Here at wpForo.com we just installed Lightbox – EverlightBox Gallery plugin. it works fine without any extra configuration. Here is the setting page:
And one more important thing. When you put URL in editor, it replaces to an image, you should press CTRL+Z to make it back as a simple URL. Only simple URL can work with Lightbox, if you leave the image and save it, it'll not work, because it'll not have a link <a> around the <img> tag. Please see the gif vide:
Thanks, we just installed and tested 4 plugins and ended with https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-lightbox/ Simple lightbox. It seems to be working fine also with our wordpress, maybe I will check also Everlight...
