In the My profile-> Account page even though the fileds of e-mail, display name or nickname areeditable the changes doesnt take effect. after clicking "save changes" a notifcation top right appears saying "your profile data has been succesfully updated" but none of this fields are updated.

Please wait for the next 1.4.1 version. We've found some small bugs and are currently fixing those. This issue will also be fixed.
