Is there a way I can add extra custom icons to certain users only, like an expert badge or an all star badge without adding plugins?

I wonder whether "User Custom Fields" could work... looking at it, there doesn't appear to be a way, but I don't want to buy to experiment, and the demo site wasn't hugely helpful in this regard.

Please edit the user from the Dashboard, scroll down to the "Forum Profile Fields – wpForo" section.

At the bottom of that section, you'll find the "User Reputation" option. Set it to "Custom Rating" and select the desired reputation level.
