After updating to WPForo 1.9.7 the forums no longer appear on the main page.

After updating to the latest version, does anything else need to be done?

I see your forum works fine. It seems the issue was a cache issue.

However, I'd recommend you check your WordPress Theme footer and other template files. I see incorrect location of some HTML tags and content. They are not wpForo content and are located after <body> and <html> tag. It seems you've done some customization with the forum page template file and crashed it:
