Hi,

Over the last couple days I've gotten people spamming my site with PDF uploads for illegal streaming sites. Any suggestions on how to prevent this?

Thanks!

We're working on a spam file detector and cleaner. I'll update this topic once it's released. Also please install some reCAPTCHA plugin, for example this one, it's compatible with wpForo:

what is the best way to prevent spammers to register to our forum in the first place?

I enabled the captcha and made it impossible to upload PDFs to the website. I'm still getting link-spammed every night with this garbage. It's a lot of work to manually delete every single spam topic or reply. I may have to disable the forums on our site until you can provide an anti-spam solution.

It's already under development and comes with next 1.1.3 version.

At the moment I recommend for all who get spammed, navigate in Dashboard > Forums > Settings > Forum Accesses. Edit the Standard Access and disable "Can Attach File" permission.
