Hi,

Do only wpForo widgets work in the wpForo sidebar, I am trying to add a newsletter sign-up form and an advertisement to it but no other widgets will display?

Kind regards,

Mark

So, back to my original question as quoted above. Perhaps the staff can answer it?

Hi @markransome

If you go to:
1) WP Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets

All Available WP Widgets, if you click the "Down Menu" on the specific widget, you have the option to add it to your WP Sidebar, or wpForo Sidebar.

2) You can add a "Custom HTML" Widget, then click the dropdown menu, select add to "wpForo Sidebar"

Then open this Custom HTML widget  and then put your newsletter sign-up form html code there.  🙂

Hope this helps.  🙂

I am using a Custom HTML widget but nothing will show, it works okay on pages and posts sidebars but not in the wpForo sidebar!

Did you try to access the widget from

WP Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets ?

That step was how I got my "Custom HTML" to show up on our forum.  Sorry that didn't work out for you.

Maybe you can share your URL so the Support Team can take a look.  (I'm just a member here).

Yes,

WP Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets ? How else would you do it?

Calm down.  I'm just trying to help.  (Other people access widgets through "Customize"  and then "Widgets").

Maybe you can try using the "Arbitrary Text" also.  Here's a screenshot of my WP Dashboard which shows the steps I suggested in my initial response to you.

Press Control F5 twice on your frontend / website to see if it works.  Newsletters and subscriptions or ads can be picky in the way they display.

Try using the "Text" widget then, and then paste your code on the "text tab".  You can also check your website in "Incognito Mode" to see if it works.  If my suggestions don't work, well, that's all I know.  Maybe the other techies here from the Support Team can help you.
