I have my settings so that if a post is edited multiple times, I just get one line saying "this post was edited....".

But this "editing post information" seems inconsistent.

Sometimes it just says

This post was modified 5 s ago by admin

and sometimes it says

This post was edited 22 h ago 6 times by admin

I don't want to see how many times the topic was edited. How do I switch that off completely?

EDIT: I think I found the answer: I just went into Phrases and removed the corresponding string (I just put a space instead).

@Chris or @Robert would you please confirm this is the correct way? Or would it be better to use a hook??

You can turn those notices off in settings | Dashboard>WPoro>settings>Posting & Editor Settings># Edit and Delete section

Thanks @verek but I do not want to remove the option altogether.

I do want to see if a post was edited. I just don't want to see that it was edited multipe times!

@fawp

And if you put 1 into "Limit Post Editing Information" what does it do? I would not know because I choose not to display editing info because it's redundant without an actual log of the changes made by the editing process. A simple notice of an edit notice is pretty useless then.

It behaves as I said in the OP, like so:

This post was edited 22 h ago 6 times by admin
