is it possible to have the reply post underneath the post and not jumpt in to the right ?

In the threaded layout topics, the list of posts and replies look like comment threads under blog article. It keeps replies level depth and sequence. The left padding of each reply allows easily follow discussion flow. Using the "Threaded Layout – Replies Nesting Levels Deepoption" you can set maximum nesting level depth.
The option is located in the Dashboard > Forums > Settings > Topics & Posts Tab.
