Hello:

The forum is great except for one glaring issue. The search bar button is the wrong color it is dark teal and when you hover over it is is a color I can best describe as gradient human organ red. Not exactly a color that inspires trust. It is also larger than I would like it to be. I am not the best in css and the rest of the colors are correct. Is there a setting I am missing?

Thanks for any help!

Please try thr cSS code provided here: https://wpforo.com/community/general-discussions/forum-menu-bar-display-issues-search-and-notification-on-separate-bar/#post-137591

If it doesn't help, please provide the URL where we can see the issue.

@wpacd1

This is not the wpForo search widget. Please watch the video attached below — you’ll see that the HTML is different from the built-in wpForo widget.

You can find the documentation for wpForo widgets here:
https://wpforo.com/docs/root/getting-started/forum-sidebar-and-widgets/wpforo-widgets/

Okay none of my menus seem to match the documentation but let me see if i can sort this out. when i go to appearance - widgets there are two widgets available. One is disabled and the wpforo search bar widget is enabled. I can change the setting for it there and it seems to update on the website but when i search for something it shows results from the website but from the forum....This is frustrating.

@wpacd1

We’re not sure what you mean. However, we’ve checked the search bar in your menu section, and it’s working fine.

Please watch this video:

My bad. I Finally got it. Sometimes i can be a bit slow. I went to appearance widgets yesterday and removed the search widget then the search bar at the top was the only search bar and it works. I have the widgets for recent posts and recent comments enabled on the sidebar but the recent posts widget is not showing the last post about forum rules so I still have that to sort out. As you may have guessed this forum is not fully active at present. We have not done what I call full site deployment in terms of publishing that the site exists etc. If you have any advice or tutorials on the side bar I welcome them. Thank you for all your help and for bearing with me.

I am using elementor as the page builder

Dear @wpacd1,

The “Recent Posts” widget you’ve added does not belong to wpForo. Please use the “wpForo Recent Posts” widget instead — it should work correctly.

Please note that wpForo widget names always start with the “wpForo”.
