Hi guys, I am looking for ways to speed up my forum. I noticed this post saying something about moving databases from Myisamm to Innodb.

What tables need changing if any, and how do I check this? I don't want to break my site of course, but would like ot see if this increases page speed.

Your site is so much faster than mine. I would like my forum to run as smoothly as yours does lol.

If you only need MyIsam to Innodb, then just install Litespeed cache.

The plugin has an automatic convert to Innodb somewhere in the tools. Convert and remove the plugin.

BACKUP your DB FIRST!!!!

How to backup depends on your tools, your Cpanel, myphpadmin. Not sure what you have.

Ask your hosting provider.

Still, don't you ever take backups yourself? What happens if something goes south?

@dimalifragis

Yes mate I have some auto back up thing that does it every day, and I take full downloads of my files and all that monthly. So its stored on a separate harddrive.

But does this back up the database too?

Maybe it would be best to speak with my host about this lol. Really appreciate your help man nice one. Ill make the back up and cross over to the lite speed chache plug in.

See if that helps.

What would make a great post from admin, is a list of how this site is optimised, so we can get a good idea of how we should do ours 🙂

I guess db backup is mandatory in a auto WP backup.

As for optimizing wpForo, there are not much you can do. Maybe use Auto-optimizer or a plugin like that, still you need to exclude things from it.

Good luck! (the Litespeed Isam->Inno is a piece of cake).
