Is there a way to allow visitors to subscribe to t a topic with out adding a reply? I'm thinking a button that says follow topic and allow them to enter their email.

Hi,
You can use the “Subscribe for new replies” button at the top of each topic (see the attached screenshot).
Additionally, wpForo has a built-in Subscription Manager tool, which you can find under My Profile → Subscriptions.
