I just checked with my web host and they sell SSL certs for $100/yr.  I don't run a business so don't need that extra expense.  I'll deactivate your product.  Thanks for your help.

@norcom41 who is your host?  Every decent honest host supplies access to the free SSL account activation. Generally you can do it your self with one click.

If they don't offer it, time to change quickly

I chatted with another rep today and found out they have a free plugin that does SSLAuto (sp?) things (name Let's Encrypt).  Read some of their docs which were somewhat technical.  Came across that it has to be renewed every ninety days (that would be extra work).  Didn't say anything about manually changing every http to https which would take a lot more effort.  Will have to study it to be confident I won't mess up the system (if many use it then its probably straightforward).

https IS NEEDED for the WHOLE WORDPRESS. Nothing to do with wpForo.

@dimalifragis And not only for Wordpress. Actually for every website, no matter what platform a website is built on.

Search engines "disregard" http based website, and browser Google, Firefox, Edge react with a warning message, that the website is not secure, etc....

So for OP, should change the hosting company asap. They all offer Free SSL, it has become their standard selling message.
